Night Owls Untie Glossary

Fending Off - Often reffered to as just "Fending". This is
Cyber's manservent who joined us during the
Marakesh party. Interesting fellow, has
proven rather useful, but not very reliable.
May often be found with "Heygirl"

Heygirl - Also joined us during the Marakesh party...
originally a servant girl but tends to
disappear frequently - usually winds up in
DJ's rug with Fending.

Donkey - Our code for sending e-mail to a particular
person (ie. Sending the donkey your way.)
When we have worn out our little beast of
burden we often substitute (ie. Donkey is
worn out, sending the camel instead) You may
also see references to lost donkeys...meaning
for whatever reason, the mail has not
arrived.

Eyeball - Ancient Owl folklore regarding the a person
who is holding the eyeball of an owl will
disclose secrets. We often "pass" the
eyeball while sharing or "drop" the eyeball
after mentioning something a little personal.

00 - In any thread, most double 00 or triple 00's
are highly desirable post #'s...At NOU, we
tend to avoid them...as they will require
snax duty (see "snax") the following evening.
For your convenience, the Official Snax
Report is provided each morning by Cutter,
eliminating your need to keep track of it.
(Cutter, BTW, is a wonderful person...)
*note* - bringing breakfast, lunch or
anything really counts as well, we are not
picky owls. Gifs or written menus are both
acceptable!

Shifts - We tend to descibe ourselves in terms of
shifts (all which are highly flexible!)
There are daytime shifts, 1st, 2nd and 3rd
shifts. Early eve would be 1st, middle eve
falls in the second shift and the wee hours
are 3rd shifters.

Snax duty - The responsibility of providing the other owls
with snax as a result of hitting the "00"
post. Gifs or written menus are both happily
accepted!

Refresh - in order to refresh the screen and see new posts, click the blue # of the post and it will show what has been added to the thread.

Gif & Pic posting - explained briefly here, first your pic needs to be uploaded to a hosting site (such as imagestudio etc...) the code is <img src=addy here>.

Colors and sizes - More codes again...color code is <font color=name color here>...size code is <font size=put # for size here>

Fancy links - link posts are nothing more than copying and pasting the addy for a site. To "name" it you need to <a href="type url addy here">Name it here</A>.

Pic sizing - To keep pictures from stretching the board the sizing code is <img height="300"img width="400"img src=place url here>
