Bid cancellation and retractions
 

Bid Cancellation

The cancellation of a bid by a seller or a buyer.

Sellers may cancel the bid of any user with whom they would be uncomfortable completing a transaction. Sellers can click here to go to the cancellation page. 

Bid retraction

When you are the winning bidder, you are obligated to pay the high-bid price for the item. As a rule, retracting bids is not allowed on eBay. For the exceptions to this rule, please read here:


 

Please remember that retracting a bid will eliminate all bids you have placed in the auction. If you are trying to correct an error in a bid, you will need to place your bid again.

All eBay bids are binding, therefore you should only retract a bid in certain circumstances. Below are a few examples of circumstances in which retracting a bid is acceptable:

* Seller has substantively changed the description of the item after you bid.

* You made a clear error in the amount of your bid.

* Someone has bid using your User ID and password.

* You are unable to verify the seller's identity.
