The chat boards...what can you say about them? They are an ebay users best friend, considering there are few other places to go for when you need help - with ebay or otherwise.

Where would you like to go today? General chat, catagory specific, international, you name it, you can find it here.
List of Ebay Chat Boards Types of posters from "Flame Warriors" Chat lingo More chat lingo Guide to Flaming (just for laughs) BoxRox (photos from the soapbox) Town Square Photos Ye ole Watering Hole (pages for the BB) Misc Fits Photo album Give Credit where credit is due...
The following are in no particular order, but without their knowledge, many of these pages would have little value. If I have accidently left someone out, please let me know! Most likely it's because I didn't know who to give credit to, but possibly it's the late night hours I keep working on this and my brain is fried ;-)

How to Post in 10 easy steps or less
(probably less...)
Ok, you have found the chat boards, you've read the board usage policy, and you think you've got something to say or a question to ask, but HOW do the boards work? Read first, then go get your feet wet. It's not as scary as it looks.
Adding a discussion
-
Look for the button at the bottom of the page, and click it. You will get a screen that asks for a subject (enter it) and a new topic description (which will be your Opening post or your "OP"). When you are satisfied with what you have written, click the button to post it to the forum.
-
Be warned, the button often does more harm than good. Unless you have trouble spelling the word "the"...you will probably sound more literate if you DON'T use it.
-
If you decide against posting your topic, you can back out of it by hitting the button.
Navigating the forums
-
Boards are comprised of a main page that list all of the topics currently being discussed. These are called "threads". Clicking on the name of a thread will bring you into that topic. Clicking the button will bring you to the first post.
-
Clicking the button will show all posts in that thread. DO NOT click this in a big thread...the world comes to and end as you know it if you do! (Ok, maybe it doesn't end, but you don't wanna know what happens...)
-
will take you one page back.
-
will take you one page foward.
-
will show you the last page of posts or the "most recent" ones.
-
within a thread, will allow you to enter keywords to search for within the thread. The same button on the main page, will allow you to search that entire forum.
-
Small navigation keys will allow you to move about threads 25, 100 or even 500 posts at a time. Pay attention to the little arrows below the number to move foward or backward. Foward 25 looks like this .
-
Using the button after you have entered some text, will allow you to post a message in that thread.
WARNING
Refreshing the screen when you have added a post to either the main page or to a thread will cause duplicate posts. Within a thread, you either will need to click the "all msg" button to see replies or you can refresh by clicking the blue post numbers (see below).

Why are you looking over here? Can't you see I stretched the page and can't fit anything useful on this side? Ignore this, ok? Go back to reading the other stuff. Please? Thanks. You aren't going. Why won't you stop reading over here? I told you there isn't anything interesting in this column...sheesh, some people!
Ok, I guess you are looking for something useful here if you are still reading. I might as well tell you something...notice the color of the column? It's pink, right? (Ok, so it wasn't a hard question, sue me.) What does that have to do with posting you ask? Good question. Pinks patrol the boards. Sometimes they even answer questions, but mainly they steal chocolate. You can identify a pink's post by a pink bar of color in their postings. It will also say "ebay" next to the thread. There are also other board moderators who essentially respond to the report button and pull posts, sometimes out of context.
Ok, so are you glad you kept reading now?
A pink slap or spanking is when you have somehow violated one (or more) of the board usage policies, or one of the unwritten bylaws. Either way, too many and you are sent to Pink Prison (suspension of posting privledges) for a determined or infinate length of time.
Hmmm, what does this button do???
Wondering about the "report" button? Ok, this is what it does. If you see a post that violates one or more of the board usage policies, you can click the "report" button which will make it easier for a pink or moderator to possibly read and determine if it violates anything. Question is, why would you want to? My personal opinion on it is that it creates more of a tense situation among community members. The only senerio I feel it is useful for is eliminating posts containing contact information. No one should have their information broadcast on a thread without their knowledge and permission. But the decision is in your hands, use it wisely.

Board Usage Policy
Using the public chat, help and discussion boards on eBay can be informative, helpful and entertaining. People receive support, learn about eBay and their collecting interests, and meet new friends on the boards. When members abide by the principles found in the eBay Community Values, the boards are a positive and enjoyable experience for all members.
By following the rules listed below the entire community will continue to find the boards helpful, educational and an enjoyable place to meet and converse with other members. Courteous and respectful postings are expected from all participants.
Messages posted to the eBay chat, help or discussion boards by eBay community members are solely the opinion and responsibility of the person posting the message. eBay is not responsible for messages left by eBay members. You are responsible for your own posts.

Notes
eBay may sanction an account from the boards without suspending them from the site. eBay may suspend any member from the boards and from the site who has been previously warned of board policy violations, though we reserve the right to suspend a member immediately depending on the violation. Sanctions/suspensions may range from 1 day to indefinite. A sanction or suspension of one ID will apply to all Ids of that member and may, at our discretion, apply to members of the same household. The use of false registration information or creating multiple accounts for use on eBay's boards for the purpose of disruption or to avoid detection may result in permanent sanction or suspension of all associated registrations.
All warnings and suspensions are in accordance with the guidelines set out in the eBay User Agreement and the eBay Trust and Safety guidelines
Please note that due to the variety of eBay boards, additional policies may be implemented on specific boards. At our discretion, there may be exceptions made for certain eBay sponsored programs or events.
As important as all these statements are for your continuted posting ability, one phrase above all matters most "though we reserve the right to suspend a member immediately depending on the violation. Sanctions/suspensions may range from 1 day to indefinite."~In a nutshell, you can be taken off the boards for any of these infractions, some unwritten rules of certain boards, never to return. Post with caution! :-) Enter supporting content here
